WANT to try boxing but don't know where to start? Try The Forks under the canopy on Saturday at noon.
The Manitoba Amateur Boxing Association will host its third annual free outdoor event, with demonstrations beginning at noon, followed by live exhibition competitions beginning at 1 p.m.
MABA officials will be on hand to offer information on programs for anyone 10 years of age and oplder and show spectators how boxing is "a lifetime activity and is beneficial for both men and women. It provides excellent physical, social, recreation and competitive opportunities for all involved."
"People from all ages and backgrounds can benefit from this terrific cardio training program," MABA past-president Rosemary Broadbent said. "When walking into a gym, some people are surprised to to see the number of women and business people strapping on the gloves and challenging themselves with a boxing workout."
