Peter and Ritu Abbi, long-time owners of Main Meats and Groceteria, celebrated the grand opening of their new store at 661 Main St. Wednesday. Their former store, on the west side of Main, was torn down to make way for the new $40-million Winnipeg Regional Health Authority headquarters and health services centre, which is now under construction between Logan and Henry avenues. The Abbis didn't want to leave the area, so they bought the vacant Kaplan Building across the street and spent $650,000 to redevelop it.
